Text Services for the Deaf

The Text Services for the Deaf module provides interactive real-time chat services for the Deaf Community. Forces can decide whether they require people to have pre-registered or whether the service is open to anyone in the community with a mobile phone.

One key advantage of pre-registration is that the correspondant's name and address details are recorded in the Managed Text™ service database, and provided this information is regularly maintained (The Text Services for the Deaf module includes provision for scheduled reminders to registered correspondants), it can be used to personalise the conversation and instead of having to capture key address information, the correspondant can automatically be asked to confirm the provided details prior to proceeding with the conversation.

Real-time updates as messages are sent and received, just one of many key features.

The message delivery panel updates in real-time as messages are sent and received, and the live message delivery status of each text is displayed along with the text, so that you can tell at a glance whether the message has been received. A operator-configurable option is the ability to colour-code and sort messages by (amongst other things) delivery status, age and priority etc.
